Eric Sink said it better

At the left of this page, near the photo of my head, is some text that says I am trying to transition from being a 'programmer' to being a 'developer'. Well, unsurprisingly, this sentiment has been expressed by others in the past. One such soul to express this was Eric Sink in his blog post No Programmers where he extols the virtues of a skill set broader than just 'pure coding'.
